WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 9, 2016–The biggest Florida International Youth Championship at next week’s CDI4* has helped boost the Adequan Global Dressage Festival to new heights with about 140 horses.
Campaigns to make the squad of about eight horses and riders to go to Europe to compete for selection of America’s team at the summer Olympics will narrow at the sixth of seven weeks of the Florida winter CDI circuit.
Laura Graves on Verdades, Steffen Peters on both Rosamunde and Legolas and Kasey Perry-Glass on Dublet fill the top four spots in the latest U.S. Olympic rankings.
Shelly Francis on Doktor and Danilo, Arlene Page on Woodstock, Allison Brock on Rosevelt and Lisa Wilcox on Galant are ranked fifth through ninth.
The 140 entries for more than 300 rides at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center will make it the biggest CDI in the Western Hemisphere.
The Florida Youth International Championships has 24 entries in the Young Rider, division, 11 in Juniors, nine in Under-25 and two in Ponies.
