WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 21, 2016–American women riders that dominated the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI4*/3* Grand Prix boosted their combined earnings to half of the almost $315,000 won by the top 10 riders after six weeks of winter circuit CDIs at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.
Laura Graves on Verdades, the 2015 U.S. Grand Prix championship combination, increased their winnings to $45,260 with prize money from victories in the CDI4* Grand Prix and Freestyle that put the pair in second place behind rankings leader Mikala Gundersen, the Florida-based Danish rider.
Shelly Francis, Kasey Perry-Glass, Allison Brock and Lisa Wilcox were the other four American riders whose earnings combined with that of Laura Graves totaled $154,540 of the top 10 total of $314,800 in the rankings compiled by dressage-news.com and presented by Cunningham & Cunningham Livestock Insurance.
Steffen Peters, the American rider ranked highest in the world standings, added another $23,820 earned during the CDI5* competition last month.
Lars Petersen, another Floirda-based rider for Denmark, was fifth in rankings with $35,155 while Spain’s teenage star Juan Matute, Jr. also living full-time in Florida, ranked sixth with $29,315.
Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén, Sweden’s six-time Olympian, rounded out the list in the eighth spot on $22,970.
