Allison Brock and Rosevelt moved up the United States Olympic rankings to place the pair firmly among the top eight combinations expected to be named for the squad to go to Europe for selection of the American team for the summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Allison and the 14-year-old stallion jumped to sixth place in the latest U.S. Equestrian Federation rankings released Wednesday, based on results at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI4*, up from eighth in the previous standings.
Laura Graves on Verdades remained at the top of the rankings, slightly increasing the pair’s margin following double victories in the CDI4* at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.
Steffen Peters on Rosamunde and Legolas filled the second and third spots with Kasey Perry-Glass on Dublet in fourth and Shelly Francis on Doktor in fifth place, all the same as in the previous standings.
After Allison and Rosevelt in sixth place were Shelly and Danilo and Arlene Page on Woodstock rounding out the top eight places. Lisa Wilcox on Galant and Günter Seidel on Zero Gravity, in Gothenburg, Sweden for the World Cup Final, were ranked ninth and 10th, respectively.
The eight combinations to go to Europe will be chosen after Florida and California winter circuits with shows scheduled ahead of the Rotterdam Nations Cup at the end of June where the team of four horses and riders and a reserve will be selected for Rio.
