BRNO, Czech Republic, June 19, 2016–Finland's Terhi Stegars and Axis TSF won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday a day after taking the Grand Prix for the pair's first back-to-back victories in five years at Big Tour.
Terhi and the 17-year-old Trakehner stallion scored 75.375 per cent for the Freestyle win that was their first victory on the World Cup circuit. The duo competed for Finland at the 2014 World Games in Normandy, the 2011 and 2015 European Championships and at the last two World Cup Finals, the annual individual championships.
Hungary's Robert Acs on Rasputin was second on 70.925 per cent with Russia's Elena Sidneva on Romeo-Star third on 70.675 per cent.
Terhi will be able to take the 20 points earned here to her home Western European League which opens this fall leading to the final in Omaha, Nebraska next March.
The 15 points won by Elena Sidneva brings her Central European League total to 25 and fourth place on the standings. Two places are allocated to CEL at the Final.
