DEVON, Pennsylvania, Sept. 30, 2016–Ireland's Olympic partnership of Judy Reynolds and Vancouver K posted a personal best score to win the Dressage at Devon Grand Prix Friday night to kick off their campaign for a start in the World Cup Final in Omaha next year.

Judy and the 14-year-old KWPN gelding scored 75.660 per cent just a week after a pair of victories at the iconic Central Park Horse Show, the first competition in America for the pair that became the first from Ireland to make it through to the freestyle at an Olympics as they did in Rio de Janeiro last month.

Arlene “Tuny” Page of Wellington, Florida on Woodstock placed second on 73.360 per cent, also a personal best for the pair that campaigned in Europe for a place on the American Olympic team.

Canada's Olympic pair of Megan Lane and Caravella placed third on 71.980 per cent. Florida-based Denmark team pair of Mikala Gundersen and My Lady were fourth on 70.720 per cent.

Friday night's performance for the Germany-based Judy and the horse she has been competing at Big Tour since mid-2014, eclipsed their previous best Grand Prix score of 75.240 per cent set in June.

The World Cup Freestyle will be staged Saturday night and give Judy and Vancouver the opportunity to earn up to 20 points that she can take back to Europe to kick start her campaign for a start at the Final in Omaha next March. The intensely competitive Western European League of nine qualifiers in which she competes begins in October.

In the Grand Prix to qualify for the Special, Jill Irving rode her Degas to the second straight victory for the Canadian combination and with a personal best Grand Prix score.

Jill and the 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding that have been a Big Tour partnership for 3 1/2 years scored 69.600 per cent in the Grand Prix for the Special that surpassed their previous best Grand Prix result of 68.600 per cent at the Global Dressage Festival in Florida in January.

Jill and Degas posted their first ever win, capturing the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle at Saugerties, New York with a personal best score a week ago.

Chase Hickok of Wellington on Sagacious HF were second on 68.220 per cent with Megan Lane on San D'Or third on 67.800 per cent.
