PERL-BORG, Germany, Dec. 9, 2015–The CDI4* Dressage Gala at Stud Peterhof will be suspended for 2016, the stud’s owners Arlette Jasper-Kohl and Prof. Erwin Kohl announced Wednesday, after four years in which the event became a major highlight of the European summer circuit.
The five-day show with 170 horses and 21 competitions required almost a full year to prepare, the Kohls said, and needed more sponsors to help cover costs.
Because of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, it was also difficult to find a suitable date for the show.
“So after long discussions we decided to grant ourselves a break from the show business,” they said in a statement.
