WARENDORF, Dec. 7, 2015–A German Olympic squad of eight dressage combinations was named Monday with Isabell Werth included with two horses but not her 2014 World Games star Bella Rose. The 11-year-old mare has not competed for a year following an injury at the championships and a second injury late in 2014.
The A-team/Olympic squad newly formatted by the dressage committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee with eight pairs instead of four in the past is:
–Anabel Balkenhol with Dablino FRH
–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl with Unee BB and Zaire
–Fabienne Lütkemeier with D’Agostino
–Sönke Rothenberger with Cosmo
–Hubertus Schmidt with Imperio
–Dorothee Schneider with Showtime and UllrichEquine’s St. Emilion
–Kristina Sprehe with Desperados FRH
–Isabell Werth with Don Johnson FRH and Emilio.
A single B-team, instead of two, was named:
–Bernadette Brune with Spirit of the Age OLD
–Jenny Lang with Loverboy
–Carola Koppelmann with Deveraux B
–Thomas Wagner with Very Keen and Amoricello.
Combinations identified as championship prospects are Beatrice Buchwald with Weihegold OLD and Daily Pleasure; Anabel Frenzen with Cristobal; Nadine Husenbeth with Florida; Kathleen Keller with Daintree; Victoria Michalke with Dance On and Wasabi OLD; Sanneke Rothenberger with Deveraux OLD and Cloud Nine, and Charlott-Maria Schürmann with Burlington FRH.
