Europeans Take Biggest Share of Prize Money 1st Week of Global Dressage Festival

WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 18, 2016–Sweden's six-time Olympian Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén was the biggest prize money winner in the first of seven weeks of the Adequan Global Dressage Dressage Festival with European riders taking the biggest share, according to standings compiled by dressage-news.com.

As the winner of headline World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle and the Grand Prix, Tinne and her championship mount Don Auriello took home a total of $6,600 in prize money.

Laura Graves of Plymouth, Florida on her 2015 U.S. Grand Prix championship horse Verdades was second on the standings with $4,100 earned with runnerup placings in the Big Tour.

Michael Klimke of Germany picked up $3,740 for placings on different horses in different divisions while Canada's Leah Wilson Wilkins on Fabian JS was fourth with $3,240 for their victory in the Grand Prix Special and third place in the Grand Prix.

The Netherlands' Leida Collins-Strijk filled fifth place with $2,970, Susan Pape of Great Britain sixth on $2,890 and America's Charlotte Jorst of Reno Nevada took the seventh spot with $2,760.

Three riders based in Florida but representing European nations filled out the top 10–Juan Matute, Jr., 18 years old, of Spain at No. 8 winning $2,740 and two Danish riders Lars Petersen at ninth on $2,320 and Mikala Gundersen 10th at $1,900.

Austria's Katharina Stumpf was the highest placed amateur earning $1,610 and the 11th spot on prize money rankings.
