Timetable announced for Judges’ Principles Seminar

The programme for this year’s Principles of Judging seminar has been released and what an enlightening weekend it promises to be!

With FEI5* judge Isobel Wessels and FEI3* judge Peter Storr taking the helm at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire on 24 – 25 October 2015, the seminar will include the basic principles of judging, assessing ways of going and, using DVDs and a host of demo riders, a look in detail at specific movements and issues that may arise. So there’ll be benefit for every dressage enthusiast – whatever your role.

Isobel has been involved with riding, training and judging dressage for more than 30 years. Her inspiration began as a teenager with Ernst Bachinger from the Spanish Riding School, taking her through a successful national and international riding career. After being promoted to the highest level of judging, Isobel now judges around 20 – 25 international shows each year. She’s also enjoying success with her horse, Chagall, who successfully stepped up to grand prix this year.

Having enjoyed 20 year-long triumphant riding career, Peter Storr became a list 2 judge in 2009 and soon progressed up the ranks. Now, he’s one of the latest in a line of FEI international judges to come from the UK, gaining 3* status in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since. Also a successful trainer, Peter led the pony team to a historic gold medal at this year’s Pony European Championships in Malmo, Sweden.

This is an official seminar for judges on Lists 5 and 6 (and trainees) with the level of tests ranging from prelim through to medium. However, all judges, trainers and riders are welcome as it covers principles and topics that are of interest to all dressage advocates, whether they are looking to fine tune their own judging or riders trying to maximise their scores in competition.

Tickets start from just £38.00 and are available for either day or the whole weekend, although the programme is designed to progress over two days, each day will give a great opportunity to listen, discuss and debate with two of Britain’s top judges.
