A bountiful harvest for Hayler at Vale View

Under-21 turned senior international rider, Bobby Hayler, enjoyed an emotional Grand Prix victory last week at the Vale View High Profile Show in Leicestershire, 15-18 October 2015.

Bobby rode her father Paul’s good-looking grey stallion Aldborough Rubenhall (pictured), a 13-year-old son of Rubioso N, to breach the magic 70% barrier with an impressive 70.60%. Hot on their heels was the popular combination of Steph Croxford and her teammate, the white-faced striking bay, Mr Hyde. The runner-up combination was awarded a personal best score of 69.63%.

For Bobby and ‘Rubin’ this is their third year at Grand Prix, the ultimate level of the sport, and in the past few months they have flown the flag for Great Britain on no fewer than three occasions – Addington CDI in March, Rotterdam CDI in June and Hickstead CDI in July.

Fast becoming a strong force within the senior ranks with a number of horses, Bobby also achieved third place aboard relatively new ride, Valentino II, her mother Gill’s attractive, black son of Welt Hit. Bobby and the lovely 16-year-old are forming a great partnership with a promise of things to come, despite their short time together.

The capable performances by both horses clearly meant a lot to the Essex-based rider: “I can't believe it, I have just won the Grand Prix at Vale View High Profile in a class of 18 with 70.60%!” said Bobby via her Facebook page. “And Valentino came 3rd with 67.50%! Thank you so much to everyone for all your support and to my amazing sponsors who make this possible for me!”

A rider making a welcome return to competition was British superstar and Olympic rider, Emma Hindle, who has had a spell out of the limelight, focusing her time on her young son and her commitment to the family business. Emma rode Romy Del Sol, a quality nine-year-old daughter of Romanov Blue Hors to win the Grand Prix Special with 68.86%.
