WELLINGTON, Florida, April 3, 2016–Mikala Gundersen, the Danish team rider, topped the Adequan Global Dressage Festival money earnings for the second year in a row taking home $50,957 ahead of three American women competitors led by U.S. Grand Prix champion Laura Graves collecting more than $50,000.

Mikala, who has lived with her family in Florida for the past decade, was the top money earner last year with $60,485 and second in 2014 with $47,920 behind Lars Petersen, a Danish Olympian long resident in Florida.

Laura Graves, the 2015 U.S. Grand Prix champion on Verdades, was second highest money earner this year with $50,135 followed by fellow Americans Shelly Frances with $41,310 and Kasey Perry Glass with $39,910y.

Lars was ranked fifth with $38,272 this year after earning $59,860 in 2015 and topped the standings with $47,920 in 2014.

Spain's teenage star Juan Matute, Jr., another full-time resident of Florida, was sixth on $31,940, Steffen Peters, the American highest ranked in the world in seventh on $23,820, Sweden's six-time Olympian Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén No. 8 with $22,970, American Allison Brock ninth at $20,685 and Belinda Trussell, atop the Canadian Olympic rankings, rounded out the top 10 with $19,500.

The $700,000 in total prize money available in the seven Global CDIs over the winter was shared by a total of 156 riders from 22 countries from throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

The circuit is by far the richest for dressage in the world highlighted by the only CDI5* and non-championship Nations Cup in the Western Hemisphere that has become so successful in five years that the current shown grounds as part of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center are at capacity.

The organizers of Global as well as the Winter Equestrian Festival of jumpers and hunters also staged at the Palm Beach Center have signed an agreement to buy the International Polo Club, the third major horse sport center in Wellington that will provide room for expansion as well as maintaining it as the showcase of top polo.
