FEILDING, New Zealand, Feb. 4, 2016–Julie Brougham on Vom Feinsten, at the top of the Olympic individual rankings for Oceania/Southeast Asia, on Thursday won the CDI3* Grand Prix with a personal best score in the pair's first competition at home in New Zealand since a successful circuit in Australia.
Julie and the 13-year-old Rhinelander gelding, the 2015 N.Z. Dressage Horse of the Year, scored 68.94 per cent for the victory that surpassed their previous best of 68.720 per cent the pair set in Sydney last month at the end of their eight months competing on the other side of the Tasman Sea.
John Thompson on Antonello, a New Zealand combination based in Australia and third in the Olympic group rankings, was second on 66.8 per cent.
Wendi Williamson on Dejavu MH placed third on 66.42 per cent.
At stake in addition to Olympic ranking points is the national championship to be decided by results in the Grand Prix Special and the Freestyle.
